A small she-cat emerged from the shadows of her den. Green eyes flitted around, while she silently padded to the middle of the clearing. A warm breeze ruffled her fur, reminding her of the warm seasons to come. The moon was just coming up, yet energy flowed through Honeystar's muscles. Being the new, recent leader of her clan made her strive to want to be the best imaginable. She had no meeting to call, yet she just wanted to be out in the open with the rest of her clanmates before they disappeared into there dens for the night.
She rasped a tongue over her honey colored chest, peering up at the rustling of leaves. Opening her mouth ever so slightly, she realized it was just the wind. SnowClan had no real enemies at the moment. They were in peace, and she liked it this way.

The long-furred tortoiseshell slid out of the nursery. She was a queen, yet she'd nothing to do, no kits to tend to, no mate or other cat to speak with. This, however, changed when she noticed Honeystar in the clearing. Sweetfur's eyes brightened considerably and she trotted over, "greetings, Honeystar!" Sweetfur mewed, dipping her head to the leader and sitting down. "How are you?"
In all honesty, it was odd not having any kits in the nursery. It was something that didn't happen often, though it was happening then. "We need more cats in SnowClan; I've no mate, and there are no kits to grow and become warriors in the Clan." Sweetfur commented, tail tip twitching slightly.

Honeystar gazed over at her clanmate, worry glittering in her pale eyes before she blinked it away. She agreed with the young queen, though she wasn't sure what she could do to change the situation. "Hello Sweetfur" the SnowClan leader purred, nodding in greeting. "I'm doing fine, and you?" Her ears twitched while she poured over the thoughts in her head.
The Clan was considerably small. There were no cats in the nursery, and no pregnant queens to come. But yet, Honeystar couldn't do much about the problem with no cats around. There was no way she could just go gathering cats from other clans, or taking in rogues. "I agree with your worries, but I'm afraid there isn't much I can do. I'm trying to keep SnowClan alive and well, we just need to pray that luck will come with the prey rich seasons ahead. " she replied calmly, filling her own head with positive thoughts as well as comforting the warrior.

"I'm doing good." Sweetfur replied, watching as delicate snowflakes fell around her. Her pale green eyes flitted around, gazing at each unique snowflake.
After a few moments of being in a trance from the snowflakes, Sweetfur shook her head, followed by a sigh, "I know you're trying, and I'm sorry for complaining. It's just hard like this, is all." The tortoiseshell's whiskers twitched as snow gathered on them. Her fur fluffed up against the wind, as well, due to it being a rather cold night.
Despite the fact that it was Newleaf, the snow still fell in SnowClan's territory; that's how it usually was.

"There's no need to apologize, we all share your doubts. But SnowClan won't fail, as won't the rest of them." Honeystar mewed encouragingly, shaking her short furred pelt irritably against the newly fallen snowflakes. She flashed a quick look around the clearing, thinking of how to sort things out. "Hoping for the best is all we can really do," the she-cat murmured, lost in thought.
She was young for a leader, but that didn't down her determination. She'd do anything for her clan, she just wished it would rise to be full of loyal, trustworthy cats. Times were tough, but giving up wasn't an option Honeystar considered. She flicked her tail towards Sweetfur's flank. "Don't fret, I'm sure soon enough you'll be laying in the nursery with beautiful new kits to add to the clan."

Sweetfur's green gaze narrowed, "you're right, it won't. There's no cat I know that would let it, or any Clan, fall. Even though we may fight with the other Clans, we all must protect each other in hard times. If one Clan falls, chaos will break out." Rather than sounding like a queen, it was almost like Sweetfur sounded like a medicine cat.
The she-cat blinked in appreciation, "thank you, Honeystar. I'm sure I will." Not knowing what to say next, Sweetfur once again began looking at the falling snow. "How's the prey running?" Sweetfur came up with.

"It's going good," Honeystar answered, tilting her head slightly to make out the tiny snowflakes falling in the darkened sky. "We don't have many cats to feed, so it's less hard to come up with fresh-kill for us all." Her whiskers quivered as she surveyed the dens around them. SnowClan territory was usually always snowing, therefore they had to keep the dens warm and built well. As of now, that was fine, she just wondered when the peacefulness would snap and something wrong would happen.

"True." Sweetfur mewed. "Has there been any news of the other Clans? We haven't had a Gathering in forever, so I didn't know if any patrols or something knew how the others stand right now." The queen mewed. That's right.. It has been a while since we've had a Gathering. Sweetfur looked up, hoping the moon would be rising, if she could see it through a possible thin cloud. However, the moon wasn't visible from Sweetfur's position, and it was too early for it to rise.

"Yes, I believe theres one coming right up." Honeystar mewed, her ears pricking. "As far as I know the other Clans are getting along just as we are. Of course I hope that doesn't make them irritable enough to cause an unknown attack." Her pale orange fur bristled along the spine at the thought of enemy warriors coming into the heart of SnowClan and battling them for no reason at all.

Sweetfur:
"True. Well, I hope the others will be better-tempered since the days and nights are growing warmer. Not only that, but during walks I've noticed that the other Clans' territories really only have little bits of frost on the edge of our borders and as far as I can see." Sweetfur mewed, blinking. "I'm glad when it's peaceful. I hope that someday my kits won't have to see horrible things in battles."

"I'm afraid every warrior sees battle in their lifetime." Honeystar purred. "I'm sure they'll be strong though. You shouldn't worry." She gazed off into the distance, wondering what it'd actually be like to have kits.

"That's true, I suppose." Sweetfur meowed. I'm worried, all right. I know it's your job to tell us not to worry, as leader, but that doesn't mean we won't. I worry for any kits I have; for I never know what moment their lives may be gone. The queen gulped, then meowed, "this peace between the Clans is great, but how long can it really last? I hope for a while, but that never seems to be the case.
